Equipment Rental Contract

1. BOOKINGS – Items can be reserved by calling 250-489-8252
2. CANCELLATION POLICY – If you must cancel your booking please provide a minimum of 24 hours. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a one-day rental charge.
3. IDENTIFICATION – A valid photo I.D. is required (I.e. Driver’s License or COTR ID). The rental contract must be made in the name of the person who will pick up the gear.
4. PICKING UP THE GEAR – By signing this contract, you confirm that:
- You have checked the equipment on this contract and that it is in good condition.
- The gear that you are accepting is suitable for the intended activity and location.
- You have checked the proper fit and accept the sizing of all rental gear.
- You have checked that the quantity and description of the items match the contract.
- You understand how the gear works. (Ask our staff if you are unsure.)
- You are adequately equipped to handle any field repairs of this equipment that may be necessary due to normal use and wear.
5. APPROPRIATE USE – This equipment is intended for recreational use only.
6. RETURNING GEAR –
- Late Returns: Equipment is due back by the return date and time on this contract. Late returns are subject to a one-day rental charge for each day or portion of a day that gear is returned after the return date and time on this contract. If you know you are going to be late, please call ahead to notify the recreation staff at 250-489-8252.
- Damaged/Lost Equipment: You are responsible for the full cost of replacing or repairing lost, stolen or damaged equipment. Please take good care of this gear. We expect normal wear and tear, so please tell us if something is no longer functioning properly.
7. INDEMNITY AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY – You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the College of the Rockies and any of its officers, employees, servants, agents, and contractors from any and all loss, liability, claims or expenses arising out of the use of the equipment by you belonging to the College of the Rockies and any of its officers, employees, servants, agents, contractors, and volunteers, except to the extent that such loss arises from the independent negligence of College of the Rockies. I further acknowledge that I am fit enough to use such equipment.
